“Have respect. Have love. Help somebody. Never give up,” said current member of the Cleveland Cavaliers Q-Stix and former member of STOMP, Elec Simon during an Anti-Bullying program presented to elementary students in Brunswick, Ohio.
This event was fantastic! Two different presentations were featured, some for the older students and some for the younger classes. Elec and his band performed wildly percussive songs for the kids, and they absolutely loved it.
The sound system for him and his band was provided by Kris Koch Music. I had a rare opportunity to spin a DJ set of samba and batucada – he loves percussive Brazilian music – as well as positive hip-hop and other songs with inspiring messages before the show! My song picks helped introduce students to music of other cultures that they may not have heard before and were a perfect prelude to the main event. I also introduced the artists and energized the crowd. I believe that Elec’s motivational speech and musical performance helped students learn important life lessons about bullying.
I love playing for events like this, whether they are in-person or virtual. I have provided DJ services for many school events in Northeast Ohio such as special presentations, outdoor events. Oftentimes I’m contacted by a PTA parent, teacher or school principal ahead of time to plan and book my DJ and sound entertainment services.
I have decades worth of experience with elementary school events that I can share with you. In addition to school assemblies, I can entertain your students for back to school picnics, pep rallies, dance marathons, field day and other events. Of course, I will follow your lead on maintaining social distancing requirements during the pandemic.
